Mozart – Requiem

A new creation by Swedish choreographer Örjan Andersson. Music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, BJ Nilsen. Performances at Malmö Opera, Sweden Nov 16 – Dec 15 2019

Lingering on the steps of a world that is neither life, nor death. On the threshold, deliberating the two conditions. Here, the award-winning choreographer Örjan Andersson creates a sensuous and rich work for Skånes Dansteater, Malmö Opera Chorus and Malmö Opera Orchestra. Join them in one of music history’s most mythical and beloved works.

Örjan Andersson embraces Mozart’s monumental Requiem and lets dancers, singers and musicians sweep you through darkness, joy, sorrow and gratitude. Together with Bente Lykke Møller (scenography and costume) and others, he creates a dazzling dance experience, full of life. The Malmö profile, dancer and choreographer Rolf Hepp, 86, is a guest dancer in the performance.

”He is emotionally explosive, playful, captivating, entertaining but above all musical”, ”an artist with a strong and innovative appeal” motivated the Arts Council when Örjan Andersson was awarded the Gannevik scholarship in 2018. He tours all over the world with his own company, Andersson Dance. This autumn we are delighted to have him back in Malmö.
